In this image we can appreciate a space station and a rocket launch center that was build in the middle of a group of islands. At right we look a rocket and in the down corner a world globe. At left we have a mountain with an orange ball that can be a theater; also you can see some stairs and walkways. Below are a capsule in one little island, that can be some kind of telescope. In the bottom it’s a black structure with box form on a mountain that can be like a control center, and more back it’s a building that looks like the empire state. In the center are little structures of white color mixed with some grays that conform all the complex of the spacial center, and behind that are like to short buildings that is under a black box that looks like a screen and next to that is like another rocket.
From atelier to e-telier: virtual design studios
The design studio is the essence of architectural education; and the new technologies in comunication combined to the advances in the Computer Aided Design allow the creation of the new virtual studio that helps and improves the teaching of design. This Virtual Design Studios (VDS) diversify student experiences interacting with people from around the globe and distribute architectural education across the world.
One of the benefits of using VDS it´s that the workspace is the web, and the designers are able to works from anywhere, and another advantage is that the studio allowed interactive sessions by video conference, mails and multimedia mailers. This studios permit this new way of collaborative design, that can be do it by two ways. One way it´s the single-task, in that each participant has his own view for the design problem, and the solution is the superposition of the view of all participants. And the other way that it´s the multiple-task, in which the problem is divided into the participants and each one is responsible for a particular part of the design. The other fact of the VDS is that they allow synchronous communication, with the simultaneous presence of all the designers, or asynchronous, in which designers work at different times with different parts of the design.
Comparing students that supplement mediated communication face-to-face, and students that communicated by web. We can appreciate how students that are in different places can exchange fundamental aspects of the design process even if they have diverse values. This is a great benefit because people of different places do thing differently, and give the opportunity of learn techniques and decision for any kind of people.
Currently it’s looking for create a new hybrid of virtual and physical architecture with chips, sensors and adaptive building behavior as about commodity, firmness and delight. As media workshops in the form of the original architecture of the age of Fine Arts, the virtual media will shape a new architecture for the digital age.
Comparison and contrast paragraph
In one hand we have CAD that is use for computer design and in the other BIM that is the process of generating and managing building data. BIM typically its use in 3D while CAD have the options for work in 2D and 3D but the most use is 2D in plans of construction. BIM works with the elements and enviroment of the structure differs from CAD where the programs works with the structure itself using lines, curves and polygons; unlike BIM that works with ilumination, geographic information, etc. BIM its used in buildings and structure but CAD can be use in automotive, shipbuilding, and aerospace industries, industrial and architectural design, etc.
